HGH Frag 176-191
Also known as hGH fragment 176-191, AOD9604 (modified analogue)
A synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human growth hormone, studied for effects on fat metabolism separate from GH's growth actions.

Overview
HGH fragment 176-191 corresponds to amino acids 176 to 191 at the C-terminal end of human growth hormone. Early research found that this region carries some of GH's effects on lipid metabolism without its effects on growth or blood glucose. Rodent studies of the fragment and its tyrosine-modified analogue, AOD9604, reported increased fat oxidation and reduced fat accumulation in obese mice. It does not activate the growth hormone receptor in the way full-length GH does.
Class: C-terminal fragment of human growth hormone
Mechanism of action
How the compound acts, as described in the literature.
Represents the C-terminal 176–191 region of human growth hormone, studied for lipolytic and antilipogenic activity.
Rodent work reported reduced lipogenesis and increased lipolysis and fat oxidation in adipose tissue.
It is reported not to stimulate IGF-1 production or the growth-promoting effects of full GH.
Its effects on lipid metabolism in mice were examined in relation to beta-3 adrenergic receptor pathways.

Evidence & safety
What the research does not show, and the adverse events and regulatory status it reports.
Evidence is mainly from rodent studies. No indexed human trial has shown efficacy for the fragment or its analogue AOD9604 in weight loss, and much recent literature on it concerns anti-doping detection. It is not approved for any use.
